Bjorn Wiinblad (1918 –  2006), was a Danish painter, designer and artist in ceramics, silver, bronze, textiles, and graphics. His work has been shown widely in Europe, USA, Japan, Australia and Canada. His creations adorn pieces of china manufactured by the Rosenthal Company in Germany, including this exquisite whimsical bowl from the Romanze line, circa 1959. Measures 7 1/4" in diameter x 1 1/2" high. Made of textured white porcelain and decorated in gold leaf with a picture of a boy holding a bowl of fruit or vegetables, with fruit or vegetables at his feet. In excellent condition. No chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. Gold is intact.
